Young Gladiators prepare for World Cup qualifier

The Young Gladiators, Namibia’s U/20 female national team reported for camp on Thursday, this week in preparation for their first leg match against Ghana. The match will take place in Accra on 18 February as part of the 2012 Fifa U/20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Young Gladiators will accommodate six to seven players of the U/17 team.
Jacqui Shipanga, head of all women’s national teams, says the team will be led by players which were recently given an opportunity to train and travel with the Gladiators, so that they can gain experience.
The likes of Lena Noreses, Lorraine Jossob, and Albertha Dawes will feature for the Young Gladiators.
Shipanga said: “Our strategic plan entails that we not only strengthen the pool of selection for players but also identifying potential young and aspiring coaches to be part of the technical team and thus give them the necessary experience under the guidance of me and the technical director of NFA, Klaus Staerk.”
The Young Gladiators squad which was called for camp includes: Goal keepers: Agnes Kauzuu, Hertha Shimuketu, Janeth Shidolo, Jessica De Oliviera; Defenders: Lovisa Mulunga (U/17), Eddelisisingh Naris (U/17), Lena Noreses, Lorraine Jossob, Vitapamwe Kamahene, Veweziwa Kotjipati, Albertha Dawes, Thandi Malo, Anoushka Kordam (U/17); Midfielders: Anuschka Meyer (U/17), Melissa Matheus(U/17), Tuliki Mundjele, Carmel Don, Thomalina Adams, Mavulu Selma, Vistorine Shaangula;
Forwards: Depney !Noabes (U/17), Juliana Blou (U/17), Jane Toivo, Monique Khrone, Samantha Hendricks.
