Cooperative Policy Review Workshop

Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, John Mutorwa (centre) at the opening of the Cooperative Policy Review Workshop this week in Windhoek.

The workshop was attended by the Cooperatives Advisory Board, which was inaugurated late last year by the Minister. The Board will review and revise the National Cooperative Policy with possible changes to the Cooperatives Act. Mutorwa said that Cooperatives are recognised as part of the private sector and are important to the social and economic development. The review and revision of the Policy and Act, according to Mutorwa, was supposed to have taken place 10 years ago as per his request.
