NBL keeps environment clean

Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) recently added Namibia Wildlife Resorts, in particular the Okakeujo and Halali rest camps to their list of companies that drop-off recyclables such as paper, glass, plastic and tins at the various NBL depots which is then transported to Windhoek by NBL.
Wessie van der Westhuizen, Managing Director of NBL said that the breweries have been doing this for a number of entities over the years.
“We have been bringing the recyclable material from Cheetah Conservation to Windhoek on our trucks that return from the North free of charge, for example. Our trucks are travelling to the North on a regular basis and when they return there is often space for recyclable material. We load these and drop them off in Windhoek for Rent-a-drum. This is just another way in which we can offer our services to ensure that our environment remains clean and healthy,” he said.

B2 Gold and now Halali and Okakeujo rest camps drop off their recyclables at the nearest NBL depots.
Anita Witt of Recycle Namibia Forum (RNF) said, “This is the kind of assistance and cooperation we need in our country. As you know, one of our biggest challenges are the distances in Namibia and the fact that many companies, towns and lodges do not have the means to transport their recycled goods to the capital.  “More companies should follow suit or talk to NBL to drop off their goods at a depot. NBL is present all over the country and in this way we are sure to get a huge percentage of recyclable goods to Windhoek for further processing,” she added.
