Windhoek’s candle factory this Friday celebrates their first anniversary in the candle manufacturing industry and will be offering specials and surprises on their products at select outlets in Windhoek.
Co-owners Susanne Stock and Cornelia Liedtke run the shop and factory together and they both make the handmade and unique candles while inspiring each other in the creations, be it the shape colour, scent or packaging.
“I have been running a shop for candles and home accessories since 2007, but there were always wishes of clients that I could not fully satisfy,” said Susanne. “Having been in the business for years, occasions were many when it was obvious to start making candles myself, but the idea took some time to mature, friends and family were always very supportive and when my business partner came on board, it was clear, now or never,” she added.
Susanne explained that for many of their customers candles are much more than just an item to light up the room and that candles often accompany the special moments in life like wedding or birthdays.

She added that candle light gives a feeling of well being and soothing ambient which makes the difference when you are getting a massage, taking a bath after a long day at work or having dinner with your loved ones. “That same quality and care that our clients put in these moments, we put in the making of the candles, the factory only uses high quality materials and natural oils,” she said.
The innovative co-owners try to be creative and come up with new ideas on a regular basis and besides classic colours and shapes they have also been successfully experimenting with unusual materials like and and stones.
“It is not only our own creativity that is growing their portfolio but also the clients who give them new ideas and sometimes challenges,” she said.
Currently the pair at are working on a Chakra candle composing of seven different colour levels, each reflecting one part of the body.
