As part of the Windhoek Beer promotion that has been running from 10 March to 10 May 2012, Namibia Breweries gave three all-terrain vehicles away including the Range Rover Sport, Discovery 4 and Freelander 2.
The winners of the three cars are Dephnit Rosset Shikongo, who walked away with the Range Rover Sport, Tangeni Shafaixuna Malakia, who received the Discovery 4 and Esther Ashipala who scooped the Freelander 2.
The mechanics of the promotion were simple as consumers could SMS a unique number under the cap of the Windhoek beers to immediately stand a chance to win weekly instant prizes. This entry was furthermore included for the grand final prize draw for the three vehicles; 150 instant prizes were given away on a consistent basis which included Samsung Galaxy smartphones, a Samsung Tablet and Sony Car DVD player sets.
Jaquiline Pack, brand manager at NBL, said the promotion had been launched to celebrate the new iconic packaging of the Windhoek beers.
Pack explained: “The instant prize winners were selected through an automatic computerised system that holds the data from all the entries received from both the MTC and Cell One networks with auditor authentication. Winners were called to present their ID’s for verification that they are above 18 and validate bottle caps. Windhoek Beer published these winners each week in the daily newspapers and also posted the names on Facebook.”
For the final draw, the same verification process took place through NBL’s audit firm Deloitte and Touché. Six entries were randomly selected again using the automatic computerised system under the supervision of Deloitte and Touché. For verification, these entries were contacted to confirm  ID’s and validate bottle caps. The six finalists took part in a live game show aired on national television on Friday, 18 May at 19h30. The other three winners were: Alfeus Uirab who won a Samsung Smartphone; Kennedy Kaunda won a Samsung Tablet and Erich Chrismann Shivute, who walked away with a Car DVD player.
