MultiChoice launches Channel ED

To celebrate the “back to school” season, MultiChoice Africa said it is supporting learners and educational efforts through the launch of a new channel, Channel ED. This week Wednesday, Channel ED joined the DStv and GOtv family of channels, when it aired for the first time on DSTV channel 318 and on GOtv channel 65.
MultiChoice said the new channel gives subscriber access to an exciting knowledge portal of both global documentaries and new locally-produced content.
Channel ED focuses on topics like physics, finance, culture, chemistry, natural and supernatural. It bring together the learned and the learning so that the subscribers can access the world’s leading minds in an interactive, vibrant arena of innovations and discovery. Channel ED’s broad content is aimed at ages 15 to 49.

The channel broadcasts six hours of new content every week day, including documentaries, short form material and presenter driven programmes. Executive Producer of Channel Ed, Danie Ferreira said that Channel Ed is about expanding the world’s knowledge on Africa through knowledge sharing thereby changing perceptions of Africa for the better.
