Managing leadership for growth

The Mayor of Ongwediva, His Worship. Jason Asino officially opened the 14th annual Economist Businesswomen Conference in Ongwediva this week Thursday. Once all the stragglers have managed to find the venue, the audience has grown to over 120 delegates. The conference was hosted under the guidance of its patron, Sarah Elago, the first black Namibian Businesswoman of the Year. Here she is seated next to the Mayor. Eight business presenters covered topics ranging from motivational to leadership, labour matters, investment strategies, finance, business start-ups, communications, debt, and other relevant issues impacting the success rate of new businesses. The conference is sponsored by Telecom Namibia and Standard Bank Namibia. (Photograph by Hilma Hashange)
