Rural children with so much potential to unlock

It was a joyous day for the Grade 9 and 10 girls of the Divundu Combined School when they received their ‘Girl Empowerment Kits’ from the Unlock Foundation, an American NGO working in the rural areas to improve education. The Unlock Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to address critical educational gaps in rural African schools. Their projects range from mosquito net distribution, to upgrading of school resources and library renovation projects. The foundation was officially launched in 2012 and works with teachers, students and community members on small sustainable projects to ensure students receive the best primary education possible. In Namibia, Unlock Foundation donated money to equip the Divundu Combined School’s first library with two computers, books, chairs and paint, as well as a blackboard for the school.
