Jacques Steenkamp, Branch Manager, Savino Del Bene Namibia

Jacques Steenkamp has been appointed Branch Manager in Namibia for the supply chain logistics company, Savino Del Bene. He brings 20 years experience in the field, having started out as an entry clerk handling fuel excise and imports into Walvis Bay for petroleum companies before managing bulk and break bulk vessels in and out of the port.
After a short sojourn into his own business, he re-joined the shipping industry to promote the Walvis Bay Corridor assisting importers to Zambia and Botswana with a fast and effective service through it.
He says that Savino Del Bene offers SADC Importers and exporters an efficient and fast service through Walvis Bay. “We utilise dedicated and reliable transporters to Zambia, Botswana and DRC for containerised and loose cargoes. We also specialise in truck and vehicle deliveries to these countries for our customers importing vehicles,” Steenkamp points out.
“I am fortunate to have been a member of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group consisting of forwarding companies, agencies and service providers to the industry from trucking companies to the port authority who met in Windhoek every month to help establish Walvis Bay as the port of choice and gateway to the SADC countries from Europe and the West. This experience will prove invaluable in dealing with Savino’s clients and potential clients.”
