An art and photo calendar for 2013 has been created by Namib High School in Swakopmund to mark their centenial celebrations. The German Embassy in Windhoek supported this project by donating N$8000 to the school.
Mrs. Urte Remmert, an art teacher, and her colleagues, made a selection from the many colourful and interesting art works of the students. The calendar portrays a variety of paintings, drawings, prints, spray paintings, collages, pottery and mosaics. In addition, some historical photos from the archives, such as early buildings, sport events, school principals, teachers, and musicians of the then  “Deutsche Oberschule Swakopmund” have been selected to feature in the calendar.
The calendar also shows the current school, teachers and learners, as well as the 100-year celebrations logo. The logo was designed by Grade 12 scholar, Bianca Syvertsen.
