Erongo invitational set for June

The annual Erongo Invititational Challenge Cup will get underway on 01 June at the Arandis soccer fields, organisers of the tournament have announced.
In its fourth year now, the tournament, which will run from 01 June to 03 June, will feature teams in the lower divisions based in the Erongo region as well as two invitational teams from Windhoek. Winners will walk away N$7000 richer while the runners-up will collect N$3400 for their efforts. The two losing semi-finalists will each receive N$1700 while the top goalscorer, player of the tournament and  the best goalkeeper of the tournament will each pocket N$300. The best disciplined team will get N$500 plus a trophy.
Chairman and tournament director, Haroldtscz Benson-Uirab says only 16 teams will take part in this year’s competition. Applications for teams that want to take part in the tournament will close on 01 June at 14:00hrs. Entries should be accompanied by a N$1000 fee.
A maximum of 15 players and three officials per participating team are allowed while a maximum of three Premier League or First Division League players are allowed per participating team as guest players.
The N$15000 tournament is being sponsored by Areva Resources Namibia, Namib Gaming, Pioneer Football Academy and Transworld Cargo.
