London is calling for Martin

SPORTS3Martin Aloysious, a paralympic athlete, will compete for the first time at this year’s Paralympic Games, slated to take place from 29 August to 9 September 2012 in London. Aloysious, who started his sporting career in 2004 at the tender age of 11, was chosen to represent Namibia in the SADC Zone 6 games in the same year in Mozambique, and has never looked back since. In 2009, Aloysious travelled to Morocco to participate in the African Games and later went to take part in the visually-impaired games in New Zealand in January 2011. Aloysious has won over 22 medals, which include mostly gold and silver medals. In 2011, Aloysious participated at the World Championships and qualified with an A standard to compete at this year’s Paralympic Games in London.
