Concert to raise funds for cancer

Lecturers and students of the Conservatoire who will perform in the Christmas concert which will take place on 6 November at 19:30 in the Eros Dutch Reformed Church. The College of the Arts will again do its bid for charity by hosting a Christmas concert to help raise funds for the Cancer Association of Namibia.
The concert will take place on 6 November and emphasis will be on traditional Christmas music including Handel’s Joy to the World, Gruber’s Silent Night, as well as O Come all ye faithful. Other traditional items include Jesu Joy of Man’s desiring, arranged for organ, and Panis Angelicus by
C Franck for voice, violin and organ, as well as the well known Twelve Days of Christmas. The COTA Youth Choir, will perform Be merciful unto me oh God, Ecce Virgo, Hodie Christus natus est and Laudate.
The concert features lecturers, senior students of the College of the Arts, the Namibian Chamber Ensemble, as well as the College of the Arts Youth Choir, conducted by Fanie Dorfling.
All proceeds of the Concert will be donated to the Cancer Association of Namibia. Besides the entrance fees of N$40 for adults and N$20 for children, the audience is asked to donate generously to the Cancer Association.
The concert, which has become an annual event, will take place at 19h30 in the Eros Dutch Reformed Church. Tickets will be sold at the door.
