FNB Namibia recently introduced two new investment funds under its Unit Trust umbrella, that strikes the perfect balance between risk and healthy caution, namely the Inflation-linked Fund and Balanced Fund. The two will increase FNB Namibia’s offering to five investment products.

Edison Katjipuka, Senior Manager at FNB Unit Trusts, gave an overview of the current investment funds available at FNB Unit Trusts, namely the Money Market Fund, Institutional Money Fund, Income Fund and General Equity Fund. “Our quest is to provide the community with diversified and affordable financial wealth creation products. We sincerely believe our spread of funds will now satisfy your diversified investment needs and also give you affordable access to the financial markets.’’
Portfolio Manager at Momentum Investments, Loftie Botha introduced the new Inflation-Linked Fund and explained, “This fund aims to achieve a reasonable level of income of 3% above inflation for the capital invested. As this fund is a medium risk fund it is ideal for investors who require maximum absolute returns after inflation. This fund can ideally be used for medium term investments that need to grow above inflation. With a low minimum monthly investment of N$500 or a lump sum investment of N$5,000, you can ensure your investment will surpass inflation.’’
Herman Van Papendorp, the Head of Macro Research and Asset Allocation at Momentum Investments, provided the overview on the new Balanced Fund and advised that the fund offered a reasonable level of capital growth through a balanced portfolio of underlying assets without being too heavily invested in equities.
“This medium-high risk fund is ideal for investors who require maximum returns, yet at a lower risk than a typical equity fund. This fund can ideally be used for a medium term investment that needs to generate a significant capital return. Again for a N$5,000 lump sum investment or N$500 per month, you can ensure healthy growth on your money,” he added.
