Makari now O&L Leisure deputy MD
Going up the ladder: Terence Makari has been appointed to the position of Deputy Managing Director at O&L Leisure
Makari became part of the O&L family in 2001 when he was appointed as Manager: Human Resources for Pick n Pay Namibia, a position that was broadened with time to incorporate other Retail businesses at the time, such as Windhoek Schlachterei; Lumber City; Kraatz Steel, and Rieck Joinery. Five years later, he joined Hangana Seafood in August 2006 as Human Capital Manager for a period of two years. This was followed by his appointment as Human Capital Manager for Namibia Breweries Limited in July 2008, a position he held till his recent appointment as Deputy Managing Director of O&L Leisure.
Makari a Bachelor of Commerce (B.COMM) degree from the University of Namibia; an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Hons. B.COMM) from the University of South Africa and a Master of Business Management and Administration (MBA) from the University of Stellenbosch.
Makari served as a Commissioner on the EEC board for the last three years, and has recently been nominated and duly elected as a board member at the Namibia Employers Federation’s (NEF) AGM.
