Bank Windhoek sponsored the Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) with N$40 000 to host the 2015 Bank Windhoek Namibia Open Beach Volleyball Championship set to take place on 21 and 22 March at the Mole Beach in Swakopmund.

The championship, which coincides with the celebration of Namibia’s 25th Independence Anniversary will cater for the young and old as there will be categories for Senior Men, Senior Women, Youth Girls, Youth Boys/Social Pairs and Mixed 4-a-Side. Participants can look forward to rubbing shoulders with some of Namibia’s top beach volleyball players, such as the 2014 Namibia Open Champions, Tin Hluplic and Julia Laggner, 2014 Ladies Beach Tour Champion, Simone von Wietersheim and 2014 Queen of the Beach Rosi Hennes as well as 2014 King of the Beach and Men’s Beach Tour Champion, James Verrinder.
Also taking part in the championships are players from the Under 19 World Champions and 2014 Youth Olympics team, Kim Seebach, Stephanie Palmhert, Jan-Eric Sack and Roman von Ludwiger.
“The Namibia Volleyball Federation would like to thank Bank Windhoek for their continued support to host this popular event. The aim of the Open Championship is to encourage as many Namibian volleyball players as possible to take part,” said James Verrinder, Director: Beach Volleyball at the Namibia Volleyball Federation.  The Bank Windhoek Namibia Beach Volleyball Open Championship will mark the start of the NVF Beach Volleyball Tour. The event at Tivoli Southern Sky Lodge is a new addition to the tour. The farm will offer both players and spectators a relaxing atmosphere in the red Kalahari sand.
