Angela Morkel received the award as Wesbank’s overall winner for Africa, for asset finance.

Angela Morkel of Wesbank’s Business Development Office was recently named the overall winner for Africa at the Select Circle awards hosted by Wesbank South Africa. She outperformed her highly competitive peers from all Wesbank offices in Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique.
Wesbank is the asset finance division of First National Bank.

Elmarie Cilliers, Head of WesBank Namibia said that this was the first year in which the Africa subdivisions joined these awards. To qualify as finalists for the awards, Wesbank sales people were evaluated, first on the number of transactions finalised per month, then the monetary value of these transactions, as well as selling Value-added products like asset insurance, business insurance and life insurance. The leading sales people were also assessed on Customer and Dealer satisfaction.
Cilliers said Wesbank Namibia is very proud of Angela and congratulated her with her extraordinary efforts. From FNB Namibia’s financial results released earlier this month, it shows that Wesbank contributes 15% to the bank’s gross advances, second only to mortgages.
