Earlier this month Wordweaver Publishing House owner Bryony van der Merwe received a grant to attend the Lagos Book & Art Festival.
The main purpose of the trip was to attend the CORA Publishers’ Forum.

This key event was facilitated by Sarah Odedina from Hot Key Press in the UK. During the workshop, which was attended by several African publishing houses, Sarah shared her experiences about the publishing industry in the UK and  gave advice to the exhibitors to take back home.   “It was an incredible experience, I have learnt such a lot,” said Bryony. The grant was offered to small publishing houses in sub-Saharan Africa by the Goethe Institute in Nigeria.  Wordweaver has entered the local publishing scene as a serious publisher offering half a dozen titles in just two years.
