Ole’, Ole’, Flamenco comes to Windhoek

Celebrating its National Day (12 October), the Embassy of Spain is bringing the flamboyant Falmenco to Windhoek. This Flamenco performance is schedule for Wednesday 16 October at the Warehouse Theatre. The show starts at 19:30.The Spanish Embassy said Flamenco is a form of Spanish music and dance from the region of Andalusia in southern Spain. It includes singing, guitar playing, dance and hand clapping. On 16 November 2010, UNESCO declared Flamenco an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.The show will be performed by the South African troupe “Solo Flamenco”, a Flamenco academy founded by the internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer Antonio del Castillo and La Tanya in 1996. Entrance to the show is free.
