An icon for all seasons

frontpage1The Independence Memorial Museum is still under construction but it already adds a new dimension to Windhoek’s landscape. The museum, which is next to the Alfe Feste, is a 40 metre high triangular setup with a large monumental statue on the northern side. The museum will be a remembrance sight for the Namibian independence wars. It will also include a restaurant and is expected to be officially opened on 21 March 2012. Construction of the Independence Memorial Museum began in 2009. (Photograph by Yvonne Amukwaya)
