Namibia fails to make it to the top 100 happy countries list

The World Happiness Report, a landmark survey of the state of global happiness ranking 156 countries by how happy their citizens perceive themselves to be has ranked Namibia at 113 in 2019.

The report was released by the UN’s Sustainable Development Solutions Network on 20 March to coincide with International Day of Happiness.

This year’s World Happiness Report focuses on happiness and the community; how happiness has evolved over the past dozen years, with a focus on the technologies, social norms, conflicts and government policies that have driven those changes.

While Namibia failed to make it to the top 100 happy country list, it moved 7 places up from 119 in the 2018. The main focus of the 2018 report, in addition to its usual ranking of the levels and changes in happiness around the world, was on migration within and between countries.
