German basketball chief returns home

The visiting president of the German Basketball Federation, Ingo Weiss, will depart for his home country this weekend. Weiss, who was on a goodwill visit to te country, met the new German Ambassador Onno Hückmann as well as representatives from the Namibian Basketball Federation, the Directorate of Sport, the Namibia Sports Commission and the Namibia National Olympic Committee. The purpose of the visit was to review progress made since his last tour in April 2011 regarding the long-term project carried out by the Namibian Basketball Federation and the German Olympic Sports Confederation together with the expert Frank Albin funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. During his stay, Weiss who is also the Chairperson of the German Sports Youth, a Committee member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the Chairperson of the Youth Commission of the International Basketball Federation, also visited the Basketball Artists School in Katutura.
