FNB Namibia recently handed over N$250,000.00 to the Namibia Tennis Association as well as N$15 000 in support of breast cancer awareness.
At the handover ceremony, Clara Bohitile, FNB Foundation trustee member said through the donation the bank has not only shown its commitment towards the sport, but has also been able to confirm its  pledge to work towards a healthy and happy nation.
“The work, care and financial assistance by the Cancer Association of Namibia means the world to cancer sufferers and whenever they come up with a great idea for fund raising or awareness creation, FNB Namibia is beside them to assist and to ensure that together the message of a healthy nation is spread.”
Bohitile called on all women to be aware of breast cancer and to go for tests at least once a year. She also urged the Namibia Tennis Association to use their sponsorship wisely and to ensure that tennis becomes a sought–after sport.
Bob Mould, president of the Namibia Tennis Association thanked FNB for supporting them for the past 12 years and for their commitment for another three years.
He said the development program has come a long way and the appointment of Kallie Heese as National Development Coordinator has been a major boost for the development programme. “The development programme is planned to expand in the future in order to reach all corners of the country and with the support and enthusiasm of all the teachers in the schools we will go a long way in putting tennis on the top rung.”
