Best game biltong in the North

Popular Fourways Biltong Shop, situated in Otavi was recently awarded the trophy for Best Game Biltong 2012. The shop, which is managed by Dawid and Lanette Schlechter, sells biltong, chilli bites, droëwors, smoked beef as well as fresh meat which includes beef, pork and lamb. Fresh meat is placed through orders to lodges, take aways and even well established hotels.
The butchery also has a branch in Oshakati where customers from Angola come in, typically placing large orders for processed meats. Polonies, russians and and a range of other processed meat have proven to be very popular at the Oshakati branch. According to Oshakati branch manager, Fanna Pienaar, the quality of meat at Four Ways Biltong is of a very high standard. “We always take care of our customers and cater to their needs,” Pienaar said.
The butchery was started seven years ago. It has become a significant buyer of game from the farmers in Otavi, and of beef from farmers in Oshakati. Schlechter said it is their procurement policy to support local farmers. Bulk meat orders are obtained from abattoirs in Tsumeb, Grootfontein and Oshakati
