Japan assists local primary school

The Japanese government, through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme, this week handed over N$396 000 to the Erongosig Primary School in Usakos in the Erongo region, to assist in the construction of two classrooms.
The GGP scheme was first introduced in Namibia in 1997 and has assisted with around 32 projects, to the tune of approximately N$14 million. The programmes implemented under the scheme include projects under health services, education,agriculture sectors as well as the provision of other basic human needs. More than 15 schools have been built under this scheme.
