ATM pin guards to protect customers

(Photograph contributed)FNB Namibia has announced the installation of pin guards at FNB ATMs. Brandon Brock, manager: FNB ATM, said that the bank has already rolled out the pin guards at 20 ATMs in Windhoek and another one in Tsumeb.
He added: “We plan to roll-out to the majority of ATMs in the whole of Namibia within the next month.”
Dawn Humphries, communications manager at FNB Namibia, stated that the protection of the customer and their information is of vital importance to the bank and as many steps as possible have been taken to ensure the protection of the customers information.
“The PIN Guard was launched back in 2005 to provide a solution to the growing problem of PIN theft at ATMs and other PIN entry devices. It has become highly successful with thousands sold worldwide.
“This product is built to last and designed with the card holder in mind. It is made of high quality transparent polycarbonate designs which provide a significant step towards protecting the customer’s personal information. This is another way of trying to protect our ATMs from the increasing threat of card skimming and PIN fraud,” said Humphries.
