NPL matches to be broadcast

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and the Namibia Premier League (NPL)signed a broadcast partnership, which entails the broadcasting of three NPL matches per month on NBC.
The aim is to have more local content on NBC and to help football in Namibia to get more revenue, through sponsors and other stakeholders.
Menesia Muinjo, Chief News and Programming Officer at the NBC said one of these three matches, one will be broadcast live and that they are looking forward to working with the NPL.
Tim Ekandjo, Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer at MTC said they are happy to be part of this agreement and that this relationship grows from strength to strength so that in future MTC can be able to pay NPL for rights. “In future we also want games that are being played outside of Windhoek in smaller towns, to be broadcast live,” he added. Currently, the telecommunication provider, MTC is the main sponsor of the NPL.
Cassius Moetie, Spokesperson for the NPL encouraged the supporters to go to the stadiums and fill them up and promised fair air time to all the 16 clubs that are in the League.
“This partnership will last until the end of the current season and N$500,000 was also donated by MTC for a graphic system, that will be used to show all the technical aspects of the games,” he added.
