Exciting tennis on the cards this weekend

The Advance Group with Moyo Nqobilizwe (left) as winner.Tennis enthusiasts can look forward to a weekend of interesting competitions as the KIA PTA Tournament goes into third round at the SKW courts starting this Friday.
Friday afternoon will see players in the Mini and Midi categories battle it out on the courts starting at 14:30. The games continue on Saturday morning as the Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced players try to outshine each other as early as 08:00.
As part of the rules of the competition, players  face each other in categories based on skill, disregarding gender and age, earning points to advance in the overall ranking of the series. The amount of points awarded to players at each competition depend on the final position at the event as well as the category in which the player competes – more points will be awarded to players in an advanced level and less to beginners.
According to organisers, this leg of the tournament promises to be exciting once again not only on court, but also for spectators, as the last tournament ended with merely one point differences between contestants in most categories. Michiel van Zyl is still leading the current KIA tennis ranking, followed by Oliver Diggle and  previous tournament’s winner Moyo Nqobilizwe.
Current rankings:
1 Michiel Van Zyl
2 Oliver Diggle
3 Moyo Nqobilizwe
4 Luke Symonds-Mayes
5 Andre Smit
6 Robert Riethmueller
7 Archie Norval
8 Christiaan Du Preez
9 Ryan Symonds-Mayes
10 Justin Oelofse
Total prize money of N$20 000 will be awarded at the end of the year to the top three  players per gender in the overall ranking.
