Men’s fistball team announcement this weekend

The SKW Fistball fields in Windhoek will be buzzing with excitement on Saturday, when the Bank Windhoek National Fistball League continues. The day will culminate with the announcement of the men’s national team that will represent Namibia at the Fistball World Championships in Argentina later in the year.

The first game of the day promises some hard hitting action as the two National A League heavyweights SKW 1 and Cohen FC 1 square up against each other. SKW 1 is the current log leaders in the Bank Windhoek National A League championship, while Cohen FC 1 are in second place barely five points behind the log leaders.
Further down the log, SFC 1 will aim to wrestle back third place from SKW 2 whom they will play during the day. The teams have had some close encounters this season with SKW 2 only winning by narrow margins.
Cohen FC 3 is still unbeaten in the Bank Windhoek National B League, but will need to pull out all the stops on Saturday if they want to continue their good run. They will play both SFC 2 and SKW 3 who have given a good account of themselves during the last round of league games in April.
Defending champions SKW 3 is especially a team to watch out for this time around. After suffering some shock defeats early in the season, the team found their rhythm. With nine points on the board, they are only two points adrift from second place. Their game against current log leaders, Cohen FC 3 is scheduled for 14h45.
The early announcement of the team is necessary in order to finalise the travel and visa arrangements as well as to allow the team members to focus on preparing for the world cup during a number of scheduled training camps until their departure.
