FNB Namibia was once again announced the best bank in Namibia by The Banker Magazine in London. This is the seventh consecutive year that FNB Namibia has walked away with this prestigious accolade and the eight time it was awarded to FNB Namibia.
Sarel van Zyl, CEO of FNB Namibia was elated with the achievement and said: “This award affirms our commitment to the country, its people, our stakeholders and customers. We continually strive to not only be the best bank for our employees but also for our customers by being innovative, first in line with great products and services, while at the same time practising inclusion of all Namibians in the banking sector. We strive to be a great Namibian business, creating a better world – and the award shows us that we are on the right track.” Van Zyl added that the values of FNB Namibia ensured that the bank remained number 1. “If you are helpful, ethical, effective, innovative and accountable at all times, nothing can go wrong. These values guarantee happy employees, customers and all other stakeholders.”
Receiving the award in London was FNB’s Chief Financial Officer Oscar Capelao. He thanked the staff, management, board and most importantly the customers for their continued loyal dedication and support. “We will continue to ask how we can help you as we seek ways to offer even better and more innovative and enhanced products and services for all Namibians. Thank you also to the Namibian government which ensures a conducive environment in which to conduct a successful business,” said an excited Capelao.
The programme acknowledges and promotes industry wide excellence in the global banking community and international judges select only one winning bank for each country which is what makes The Banker “Country Bank of Year Award” such a sought after award.
