HAN to host congress

The Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) Congress 2014 pegged for 20 November at the Windhoek Country Club Resort will be part of HAN’s annual 2-day event which will include a tourism cocktail as well as NBL Beer tasting followed by the annual HAN Tourism Trade Forum.
The HAN Tourism Trade Forum is the event culminating in the annual Tourism Awards Gala on 21 November during which the best accommodation establishments will be awarded, recognition given to deserving properties by Eco Awards Alliance, the best community-based tourism product identified, in partnership with NACSO, as well as honouring some tourism personalities of the past year.
HAN representing the “hospitality” side of tourism will naturally extend an invitation to all other tourism sectors, including tour operation, car rental, aviation, travel agency and bookings, as well as our key partners, being the NTB and MET/DTG, to join in the full-day discussions at the HAN Congress 2014.

For the event HAN will present to the Namibian tourism industry a carefully selected group of international speakers and presenters to tackle the challenges facing tourism planners, from Mike Saunders, expert in social media and CEO of DigitLab, Reinhart Mecklenburg from AfroSales, one of Namibia’s most passionate marketeers in Europe, Ross Kata, Area Manager of Expedia Inc.
and Board member of the TBCSA (Tourism Business Council of South Africa), and Grant Heale, who is  runs a training company in South Africa that focusses on making Sales Teams adapt to the latest concepts of Demand Creation.
Sponsors at the event will include Standard Bank of Namibia, Bannerman Resources, Marsh Namibia, Air Namibia and Namibia Breweries, all of whom have this year increased their financial support to enable HAN to engage professional and international Congress speakers.
