Young at heart, Tura Magic in action will be in this year’s final and will try and gun down Invincible FC at this year’s Khomas League finale.

In a bid to nurture football at grass-roots level, the Khomas Youth League which has been running various youth leagues will deliver some pulsating action for football fanatics this weekend at John ya Otto Nankudhu Stadium in Wanaheda, Windhoek.
The Khomas Youth League has been running various youth leagues, from the under 9’s to the under 19’s in the Khomas Region since the beginning of March 2014.
The Under 19 league was contested by 12 teams which included; Invincible F.C. , Tura Magic, Challengers, Home of Good Hope, Khomas Chiefs, JCV Football Academy, Prokids, F. C. African Stars, V-Power Eleven and Nick Eleven F.C.
Khomas Under-19 League Chairperson Cynthia Balzar revealed that the finals will start at 08h30 with an encounter between beaten semi-finalists Challengers and Katutura Football for Hope Centre (KFHC)’s fight for third place while the main final will be played at 10h30 between Tura Magic and Invincible FC.

“The boys have really given it their all season and we started off with 10 teams and then into the top eight and semis and now the finals on Saturday. It has been a bumpy ride in terms of the fields’ availability, payments and adherence to the rules by the clubs but overall the boys have enjoyed themselves and going forward we can only get better, said Balzar.
Balzar called on football authorities to ensure that these players are absorbed into the football tiers above the Khomas under-19 League.
“There is so much potential and it needs to be nurtured. It does not help to play this league and in the end these players don’t go anywhere. We should be seeing these players in the second and first division and even premier league because that is how development should be and we are just doing our part with this league,” she urged.
Tura Magic reached the final by beating Challengers FC 2-0 while Invincible FC defeated KFHC 5-2 in the semi-finals played two weeks ago.
Others leagues in Khomas are still in progress with the Under-17s still playing the league rounds and the Under-15s at the quarter-finals stage and the under-13s and under-9s also involved in league action matches.
