Don’t hit her, just kiss her!

Men of all ages came out in numbers to show their support and love for women on Saturday 8 March at Windhoek’s Zoo Park. The crowd chanted “Don’t hit her, juss kiss her” while marching down Independence Avenue. The lively crowd then gathered at the amphitheatre to celebrate with local artist The Dogg and many other musicians who gave heartfelt messages to encourage the audience. The day was organised by Black Excellence. The march was organised on the back of a very dark period observed through February in which 15 women were killed, infamously dubbed Black February. The march came two days after a National Prayer Day attracted thousands of sympathisers. Photograph by Comfort Ajibola
