They came, they sang, they conquered. Mafikizolo who are known for their love songs ‘Ndihamba na we’ and ‘Emhlanjeni’ performed songs from their new album titled ‘Reunited’, rushing the crowd to their feet and begging for more.
This artistic duo with their extraordinary talent for harmonisation performed their current hits ‘ Khona’ and ‘Happiness’. They were joined on stage by featured artist Uhuru for an electric rendering of Khona.
Mafikizolo is made up of lead singer and composer, Nhlanhla Sibongile Mafu Nciza and male vocalist and composer Theo Kgosinkwe.
Their music is influenced by Kwaito and they have been credited with a genre called Kwela, after their style of music years ago. It has also been described as Kwaito-Cum-Marabi, Afro -pop and House music.  Kgosinkwe, especially, had the crowd screaming with his dance moves as the duo performed at the Monate Festival was held at the University of Namibia Pavilion last weekend. The audience of about 400 enthusiastic Afro pop lovers, kept the artists occupied until the early hours of the morning.
Mafikizolo performed alongside local artists Dixon, Sally, Ru, Exit, DJ Amizzy and DJ Cue Point who also had the crowd on their feet.
