A young Keara Beukes is a shining light for all other learners. This year her fourth grade performance was exemplary.
Other than being the top overall academic performer in her class, she also excels on the sport field.
She took the first position in long jump as well as in the 800-metre, 100-metre and 80-metre races. The vibrant young lady known by her friends as KKB is also a self-taught musician with tremendous talent on the drums and guitar. Her artwork (paintings and drawings) are quite comprehensive and coupled with her desire to do well in karate and netball, this ten year old lady is pure dynamite. Speaking to the Economist, Keara explains that she has her eyes set on competing at national level. She would further want to add to her list of achievements a medal in shot put. Fluent in German, Afrikaans and English it is evident she has a very promising future ahead of her for the rest of her school years.
Keara is still undecided about her career one day, but said she has a keen interest in veterinary science.
