Launches Adventure Tourism Trade Forum and Awards Gala

To kick start their silver jubilee, the Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) launched its Gala Awards as well as the Adventure Tourism Trade Forum at a sponsorhip event last week Friday.
The association received a total of N$125,000 from Standard Bank Namibia and Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL).  According to the Hospitality Association, the Namibian tourism industry is actively engaged in preparing for the Adventure Travel World Summit for 2013 and partnerships have been formed with partners such as NBL, Standard Bank and Bannerman Resources. This collaboration is a valuable and necessary constellation to ensure the success of this major event in adventure tourism in 2013.

Speaking at the handover, Wessie van der Westhuizen, Managing Director of Namibia Breweries Limited said he believes that the co-operation between Namibia Breweries Limited and the Hospitality Association of Namibia has strengthened Namibia’s tourism product and brought it to where it is today. “Namibia Breweries Limited has stood by the Hospitality Association of Namibia for most of the years as our quality Namibian beverages and the enjoyment they provide, complement the role of the Hospitality Associatio as the provider of quality Namibian tourism experiences and in return benefiting our country,” said van der Westhuizen.
This year, the HAN Tourism Trade Forum will be held over two days, with the first forum slated for Tuesday, 20 November in Windhoek at Safari Hotel and the second on Friday, 23 November at the Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre.  According to HAN, running the forum over two days in two localities combines the best of both world’s, namely convenient settings for trade negotiations, as well as setting the stage for adventure activities and glamour, leading up to the HAN Gala Evening on 24 November, taking place in the Namib Dunes.
