Seven days left for local filmmakers to hand in submissions

Filmmakers have seven days left before the deadline for submissions for the 4th Namibian Theatre & Film Awards (NTFA). The closing date for submissions is Wednesday, 15 February 2017 at 16:30 and all filmmakers, both  newcomers and established are urged to submit their productions for award consideration.

NTFA was founded in 2010 by the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN), the Namibia Film Commission (NFC) and the Filmmakers Association of Namibia (FAN). The awards aim to celebrate, recognize and honor theatre and film practitioners.

The NTFA is the only national event that recognizes the work done by performing artists and filmmakers in the country. Their hard work is important to the institution as it contributes immensely to the local entertainment industry, with local content created for both theatre and on screen. Since its inception the event has grown in scope, and this year promises to build on the successes of the previous years.

NTFA therefore is inviting all filmmakers to timeously submit their productions. Eligible entries are short films, feature films, documentaries and music videos completed between 13th September 2014 and 15th February 2017. Student films are encouraged to submit their work, to be considered for the newcomer category. Previously submitted projects do not qualify.

Entry forms can be collected at the offices of the Namibia Film Commission (corner of Feld & Newton Street), at the NTN Box Office (12 John Meinert Street) OR downloaded from the awards official Facebook page @NTFA 2017. Alternatively, filmmakers can request an electronic copy via [email protected].

Furthermore the organisers said to keep abreast of all the information and events leading up to and during the awards, one can follow the NTFA 2017 official social media pages; @NTFA2017 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
