The Mathematics Club Learners, comprised of best performing students in Mathematics and Science at the Coastal High Schools based in Swakopmund, recently undertook a tour of Windhoek. The learners visited various tourist attraction sites as well as several high schools and tertiary institutions in the capital.
While at UNAM, the wizkids were given a career guidance lecture as well as information on  the various courses offered at the university. Lovisa. Nghipandulwa, the Career Guidance and Development Officer at UNAM and Desiree Davies, Faculty Officer of the School of Postgraduate Studies facilitated the tour. The learners also had an opportunity to visit the UNAM School of Medicine, where Dr Timothy Rennie, Head of the Pharmacy Department facilitated the tour.
According to Nghipandulwa, the tour provided an exciting and learning platform for the learners through an open interaction atmosphere. She encouraged other schools to use opportunities such as this and visit their nearest University centres country wide to familiarise themselves with the various fields of study and widen their career choices.
