O Tannenbaum!

O Tannenbaum!

Community involvement was the driving motive when four schools near Auas Valley Shopping Mall were invited to participate in a competition for creating the best-decorated Christmas tree.
Delta Primary School, Kleine Profesor College, Pionierspark Primary School and Suiderhof Primary School competed, each for a share of the N$11,000 total prize money.
In the end, Pionierspark Primary took the honours, winning a cool N$5000. Delta in second place won N$3000. Kleine Professor and Suiderhof Primary got consolation prizes with N$2000 and N$1000 respectively.
Auas Valley Shopping Mall held the Christmas tree competition as a prelude to the mall’s Christmas late night shopping promotion scheduled for next Thursday, 01 December 2016. At the concluding ceremony, Agra Properties’ General Manager Henning Tiemann, remarked that Auas Valley Shopping Mall is always creating opportunities to involve the community. “Earlier this year, we hosted the Easter competition, where primary learners prepared décor material that was used during the Easter season. The learners showcased their creativity and their schools were rewarded. We plan to grow this competition and make it bigger and better for all,” he said explaining that the success of the Easter competition prompted the mall to hold a similar competition for Christmas.
The Christmas tree competition was held to prepare the mall for the late night shopping promotion when all the shops will stay open until 20:00. Various specials and promotions will be offered and the Land Rover Club will hold a car show in the mall.
