Blankets to keep children warm

The Windhoek Country Club Resort made a significant contribution to help needy people get through the coldest part of winter by donating 250 blankets in support of the Emmanuel Church’s Kingdom Missions.
The blankets were received by senior pastor Matt Ludik and the church’s missions coordinator, Vicky Tagliaferri.
Raymond Kodisang, the hotel’s deputy General Manager said “It is a pleasure and honour for us to be able to partner with institutions such as the Emmanuel Church who looks after the needs of the most vulnerable in our community, especially in winter. It is part of our Corporate Social Investment policy to ensure that we lend a helping hand to the communities that we operate in. We have assisted the Emmanuel Church for many years with their soup kitchens where they feed more than 4000 children three times per week. This year we took the support a step further by donating to the blanket drive. It warms our heart to know that less children will spend a cold night this winter because of the blanket drive.”
Tagliaferri said the blankets will be handed out on 9 July 2016 in Goreangab in Katutura to the needy. “We work with the local pastors of the area to ensure that the 1000 blankets we aim to collect go to the neediest of our community. We encourage Namibians to join us on 9 July. It is a most gratifying experience to see the smiles on the faces of our small Namibians.”

Typesetter

Today the Typesetter is a position at a newspaper that is mostly outdated since lead typesetting disappeared about fifty years ago. It is however a convenient term to indicate a person that is responsible for the technical refinement of publishing including web publishing. The Typesetter does not contribute to editorial content but makes sure that all elements are where they belong. - Ed.
