Council for Higher Education gets international star

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) received an International Star Award for Quality in the Gold Category from the Spain-based Business Initiative Directions (BID) for Commitment to Quality, Leadership, Technology and Innovation in pursuit of excellence, last week in Geneva, Switzerland.
This merit which is internationally acknowledged through the 2016 lnternational Star for Quality Award was received by Dr Kalumbi Shangula, Chairperson of the National Council for Higher Education, accompanied by Mocks Shivute, Executive Director of the NCHE Secretariat at the InterContinental Geneve Conventional Hall, from the President of BID,Jose E. Prieto.
By receiving the 2016 International star Award for Quality Award, the NCHE makes Total Quality Management a core focus for continuous improvement in order to maintain the leadership in its sector and community.
Accordding to Shivute, the National Council for Higher Education has become an example of perseverance in the field of quality.
Meanwhile, other African institutions which received similar accolades are the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, lkeja, Nigeria, Mirage Houte Couture in fashion category, Algeria, University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, Hospital Cheikh Khalifa lbn Zaid, Morocco, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Nigeria, and Oshakati-based Alpha Medical Laboratory represented by Or Tamer Hassan.
