Leading FNB’s business banking

Johan van der Westhuizen

Johan van der Westhuizen is the new Head of FNB Business Banking. Announcing his appointment, FNB said he is well-known in banking circles since he was instrumental in setting up the Corporate and Executive Banking Division at a competitor.

Van der Westhuizen holds a B Comm. HDE CAIB (SA) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (CFP). His banking career spans 25 years.
Regarding his new challenge at FNB Namibia he said “I will strive to continue and build on the excellent achievements of my predecessors and the FNB Business team while taking the division to the next level. It is always challenging to make an already successful division even more successful, but with teamwork everything is possible. I know that my team and I will get the support and co-operation of each employee in the FNB group, in order to maximise all the business opportunities, and eventually the profit for the bank and Group.”
He said he looks forward to his new journey adding: “FNB is the oldest and biggest bank in Namibia with the largest market capitalization on the Namibia Stock Exchange. It is also widely recognized as the most innovative bank with world-class electronic banking, cash management and other systems to support customer service.
These are important enablers for a Corporate and Business Banker to provide the ultimate customer service experience to customers, which will result in FNB growing its business from existing, as well as new customers. I believe that customers are the reason we exist and they are paying our salaries.
We should be our customers’ servants, to serve them to the best of our ability. I believe that we, as bankers, must visit our customers regularly at their businesses and must build trust and long term mutual beneficial relationships. The FNB Business team and I are ready to serve you. How can we help you?” he quipped.
