“We appeal to our people, officials, fans and players to equally trust and be committed to Standard Bank Namibia by using their products and services on offer,” he said. Kapenda said that it is the main objective of the Association to introduce more quality competitions into the domestic game. “It is important as it gives our players more opportunities to train and play, which improves their overall ability as footballers.” The cup is set to be played on 16 August before the commencement of the premiership league. In the case that a team wins both the domestic league and the Bidvest Cup, the runner-up team in the Bidvest Cup will be chosen to play in the Standard Bank Cup competition. Players can look forward to receiving several awards at the end of the tournament namely: The Man of the Match Award, The Moment of Brilliance Award and the Spectator Award. The launch ended off with the unveiling of the Standard Bank Super Cup Trophy and to date, this has been the biggest sport sponsorship handed over by Standard Bank Namibia.
