In addition to the interest rate the bank will also allow all prospective vehicle buyers to enter into an agreement over 60 months with no deposit with the terms and conditions being applicable.
“I am confident to say that we expect a great spectacle this time around too. We will be having 35 exhibiting motor dealers and besides the latest vehicles on display we will also be showcasing caravans and the “yellow metals” or big trucks as they are known to everyone. We are hoping to attract 17 000 spectators to the show and this year our intention is to give exposure to our local dealers because it is always better to support our own,” said Wim Lotter, Standard Bank Namibia Head of Vehicle and Asset Finance.
The Standard Bank Auto Show has been described as one of the most highly profiled and popular event in the automobile industry. This is the zeal with which Lotter said, that it is all systems go for the Auto Show this month.

One of the features that will draw a lot of attention is the vehicle turntable. “The significance of the turntable at the Auto Show is that it will allow spectators to see the latest vehicle models from all rotating angles. One will be able see the car in all its glory!”said Junius.
Junius added that customers who successfully apply for a vehicle during this period would also stand a chance to win exiting prizes, which include free insurance, smart devices as well as a cash prize of N$10,000, which will be allocated towards the customers vehicle loan, and much more. These special conditions will be applicable to all dealerships exhibiting at the Standard Bank Auto Show this year. This year’s show under the theme: “Start the Engine” is expected to host various participating local dealerships. The Standard Bank Auto Show is the most prestigious event on the Namibian calendar and a popular event in the auto-mobile industry.
“On the entertainment side of things we will be having freestylers ,motor bike stunts will be performing over the weekend, as well as the 4X4 guys will display their attractive vehicles with competitions throughout the show. Due to the great exposure, this is an ideal platform for Standard Bank Namibia to bring our customers face to face with the local dealerships. For our dealers this is great exposure for them to market their latest models, while at the same time compare and contrast their products with each other. At the end of the day we want to give the local dealerships a platform to provide real specials deals to their customers over two days,” said Lotter.
Lotter said potential vehicle buyers are required to bring along an identity document, drivers license, proof of income/pay slip, KYC Document (water and electricity bill, or rental agreement) and a quotation of vehicle. “customers are also encouraged to give a deposit on their vehicle purchase as this will guarantee them a lesser monthly installment. “Individualized calculations can be done for customers where we can incorporate a Residual Value (RV) or Balloon Payment into the deal. All vehicles on show will qualify for a RV and it is just the percentages on different makes and models that will differ. Customers are more than welcome to visit us at the show, or at our offices to apply for finance during this period,” Lotter explained.
