Let there be Christmas lights

Former Junior Councillor and Big Brother Africa, The Chase winner, Dillish Mathews (right) joined the re-elected Mayor of the City of Windhoek, Her Worship, Agnes Kafula to switch on the City’s Christmas lights on Wednesday. The Switching on of the the Christmas lights along Independence Avenue annually marks the beginning of the festive season in the City.

“The Festive Season is a time for people to get together with family and friends, and a time to care and think about others, especially those who are less fortunate and who find the festive season more painfull than cheerful,” said Kafula. At the event the Mayor handed donations in kind and cash contributions to Acacia Children’s Trust, The Glory Support Group Gardening project, a child-headed household, the Shitana family and The Kids Alive Home.
