NAC sponsors ATWS

Namibia Airports Company (NAC) is sponsorig the 2013 Adventure Travel World Summit with a donation of N$289,824.
Handing over the sponsorship on behalf of the airports company, Acting CEO of NAC, Tamer Sami El-Kallawi said the decision to contribute to the summit is a direct step in building sustainable capacity as it will be the foundation upon which the Namibian tourism industry will grow and contribute to the nation long after the event ends. ” As a prefered tourist destination, we must not continue to rely on our reputation as a peaceful and stable nation but must collectively and proactively continue in our strides for infrastructure development, technological advancement and customer service excellence especally at our airports which are the gateways to the country and should therefore reflect positively on the nation at large,” El-Kallawi said.
According to Gitta Paetzold, CEO of Hospitality Association Namibia, the donation will be used for airport taxes and other expenditures.” A lot of companies have come on board to offer their support in kind and in cash. We will use some of the money donated to buy locally-made gifts for all the delegates as part of our appreciation for attending the summit in our country,” she said
At least 650 tourism experts from 60 different countries will attend the ATWS 2013 scheduled to take place in Windhoek and Swakopmund from 26 to 31 October 2013. This is the first time the summit is held in Africa.
