Fined, relegated – Young African FC sing the blues

Gobabis based premier football league (NPL) side outfit, Young African FC this week were relegated from the country’s top flight league with immediate effect, the NPL said.

Young African were found guilty on fraud in which they registered a player with false identification details as well as contravened rule 52.4 of the NPL Football Manual on Rules and Regulation for corrupt, dishonest or unlawful practice in connection with matches played under the auspices of the league, during the 2017/18 MTC Premiership Season.

The NPL in a statement said, the relegation comes following a disciplinary committee hearing held on late last year, which concluded that the team is guilty in both two cases.

According to the NPL, Young African FC forfeits points for all the matches that the player played under the fraudulent cloud and the points gained must be awarded to the opponents whom they were played against for each match.

Furthermore the team shall pay N$50, 000 for both offenses and such payment be made on or before end May.

“As Young African FC was ordered to forfeit the points for all the matches that player played, the club has been relegated from the MTC/NPL Premier League with immediate effect,” the NPL concluded.
