Biggest businesswomen conference in the North

More than 140 delegates attended the 13th Economist Businesswomen Conference in Oshakati at Oshandira Lodge on Thursday. The one-day conference which is held annually helps to equip rural women who are starting, expanding or working to improve their businesses with tools they need to move their businesses and careers forward by generating new ideas, making new connections and exploring new opportunities. Speaking at the opening of the conference, Telecom board member Feitjie Veldskoen said events like the Businesswomen Conference are an opportunity for rural women to come together to share knowledge with great Namibian women who are leaders in their respective fields. “In other words, this is a forum where women can pool ideas, talents, and strategies for personal and professional achievement. Opportunities like this help to strengthen the foundations on which women in Namibia can strive and prosper,” she said. The conference was hosted in partnership with the Conference Patron, the 1999 Businesswomen of the Year, Sara Elago.
