Swaitex pledges exceed N$600,000

At a gala dinner in September, the Erongo business community came out in force to support Swaitex 2016, the exhibition and business promotion drive of the Swakopmund branch of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Swaitex 2016 will be hosted at Swakopmund’s Dome from 13 to 15 October.
The gala dinner raised more than N$600,000 showing the wide support from the business community for this key business promotion event. In addition to the pledges, two Karakulia artworks were auctioned to local business people.
Swaitex creates a platform and opportunities for Swakopmund businesses to facilitate trade and establish linkages between local entrepreneurs and foreign companies. It is an opportunity to showcase products and services in addition to creating a forum for smart partnerships with established corporate entities to drive economic growth.
The NCCI Swakopmund Branch is the driving force behind the creation of this fast-growing and successful annual event.
From its humble beginnings in a tent at the Swakopmund Municipality parking lot in 2013, Swaitex developed into an internationally focused Expo.
“Exposing our town to international exhibitors and shining light on the businesses that make up Swakopmund’s diverse economy is the inspiration behind this focus” stated the Swakopmund NCCI branch.
Now in its 4th year, Swaitex is looking to expand its scope and improve upon the massive success of the inaugural event in 2013.
The support partners (in cash or kind) include Erongo RED (N$300,000), West Coast FM (N$150,000), FNB Swakopmund (N$100,000), Swakopmund Municipality (N$100,000), Standard Bank Swakopmund (N$60,000), Namport (N$50,000), MTC (N$50,000), Corporate Gear CC (N$80,000) and the Kadhikua Group of Companies (N$2000).
