Keep a child warm

ya-warm4As the cold weather slowly but surely sets in, the Christina Swart-Opperman AIDS Orphan Foundation Trust continues to ensure that children from less-privileged backgrounds are able to keep warm in winter. The trust donated warm clothes, blankets and food to orphans and vulnerable children on Thursday, this week. The trust received a contribution of N$56 000 from various sponsors for the Winter Warm Initiative, now taking place for the sixth time. The initiative is aimed at benefiting 230 children of which 132 are from individual families, 42 from Maria’s Kiddies, 50 from Mothers Voice Grassroots and six from Sida Di Soup Kitchen. Swart-Opperman said “the trust will continue to help improve the quality of life of AIDS orphans through the participation in educational programmes, care and feeding schemes, prevention and psycho-social support.” Donors and recipients of the Winter Warm Initiative at the handover ceremony.
